Model United Nations (MUN)
The RCC Model United Nations team participates at several regional and national conferences each year. The MUN experience is designed to provide college students from around the world with opportunities to better understand the dynamics of multilateral diplomacy. At MUN conferences, each team represents a foreign country or non-governmental organization and discusses a wide variety of topics including nuclear disarmament, economic issues, human rights, and intellectual and technological property rights.
At the end of most conferences, outstanding delegates in each committee are recognized and given an award certificate; the Best Delegate in each committee, however, receives a gavel. Thousands of middle school, high school, and college students across the country and around the world participate in Model United Nations, which involves substantial researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, as well as critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
