Program Description

This certificate prepares students for entry-level careers in the Graphic Arts with an emphasis on practical design agency and real client project experiences. This includes skill-building instruction in graphic design, digital media, motion graphics, electronic publication, illustration, and client projects.

Classes are structured in a studio-style environment to provide strong academic and hands-on experience in graphic design and production techniques using the latest equipment and software available.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students should be able to:

  • Demonstrate understanding of current web development concepts, theories, trends, and their influences and applications.
  • Create a document with alternate layouts that utilizes interactivity and electronic navigation and combines multimedia content to provide an effective user experience.
  • Create an advanced graphic design project that demonstrates professional print production workflow.
  • Demonstrate the proper use of branding graphics appropriate for marketing and advertising campaigns.
  • Produce a print and digital portfolio of student work suitable for job application.
