About Classified Leadership and Success (CLAS)

Classified Leadership and Success is a standing subcommittee of the Human Resources Advisory Group operating under the direction of the Resource Development and Administrative Services Leadership Council. The primary charge of this subcommittee is to contribute expertise in the development of Human Resources and Professional Development from the perspective of the classified professionals of Riverside City College, administer the college’s classified employee recognition programs, and encourage employee engagement in an effort to promote enthusiasm and positive action towards the achievement of the college’s strategic goals.

The mission of CLAS is to cultivate the growth, leadership, and upward mobility of classified professionals by promoting engagement, recognition, and equity-minded professional learning in alignment with the college’s strategic priorities.

To foster an empowered and equitable community of classified professionals who lead with purpose and contribute to Riverside City College’s culture of excellence.

The Classified Leadership and Success committee at Riverside City College will:

  • Improve productivity in the workplace through employee engagement
  • Maintain employee skills for new and emerging technology
  • Support classified professional development and promote employee retention
  • Provide individualized, specific, ongoing, and appropriate activities (professional development, employee recognition, and professional growth)
  • Embrace the value of all college employees

The David Dant Employee of the Month Program recognizes outstanding RCCD classified professionals who go above and beyond in their service to students, colleagues, and the college community. This program highlights excellence, dedication, and the everyday contributions that make RCCD a great place to work and learn.

Professional Learning Resources

The Professional Growth Program, as outlined in the CSEA Chapter 535 Collective Bargaining Agreement, offers classified unit members opportunities for salary advancement through approved job-related education and training.

The Staff Development Program supports classified and confidential employees in building skills, advancing careers, and contributing to student success.

  • What’s Covered: Job-related workshops, conferences, trainings, online courses, and other professional learning activities.
  • How It Helps: Enhances job skills, boosts morale, supports career growth, and strengthens service to our students.
