Automotive Electrical and Electronics Specialist (R)
The Automotive Technology - Electrical and Electronics Specialist certificate/degree prepares students to apply technical knowledge related to service, diagnosis and repair of electrical, electronic and climate control systems found on modern automobiles. Emphasis placed on diagnosis and repair of lighting, power windows/locks, driver information, climate control, and other electrically controlled systems. Climate control servicing and safe refrigerant handling are covered.
Program Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this program, students should be able to:
- Demonstrate personal and shop safety procedures needed to safely work in an automotive shop environment.
- Utilize a variety of electrical/electronic test equipment to test and diagnose electrical/electronic circuits.
- Diagnose, service, and repair electrical/electronic circuits found on modern automobiles.
- Demonstrate safe refrigerant handling practices while charging automotive air conditioning systems.

Associate of Science Degree
The Associate of Science Degree in Automotive Electrical and Electronics Specialist will be awarded upon completion of the degree requirements, including general education and other graduation requirements as described in the college catalog.
