Riverside City College leadership joined business, education, healthcare and community leaders at the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce’s Good Morning Riverside meeting on Aug. 13, reinforcing the College’s commitment to building strong regional partnerships and supporting the educational and economic vitality of the Riverside community.

RCC was represented by President Eric Bishop, Ed.D.; Vice President of Academic Affairs Lynn Wright, Ed.D.; Dean of Student Services Thomas Cruz-Soto, Ed.D.; and Outreach Services Supervisor Delia Tijerina. Their participation provided an opportunity to connect with community leaders, strengthen existing relationships and explore opportunities to further support students and the region.

Good Morning Riverside brings together leaders from across the community to share updates on initiatives impacting Riverside. The Aug. 13 program included presentations on the Altura Credit Union Small Business Empowerment Grant Program, introductions of the City of Riverside’s new interim city manager and city attorney, information about the upcoming Riverside College and Career Fair, and updates from the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce. Sonia Llamas, Ed.D., superintendent of Riverside Unified School District, served as the keynote speaker.

“Riverside City College has always been deeply connected to the community we serve,” Bishop said. “Being in spaces like Good Morning Riverside allows us to actively be part of the community, as well as listen, learn and continue building partnerships that create opportunities for our students while contributing to the strength of our region.”

The meeting also highlighted the upcoming Riverside College and Career Fair, scheduled for Sept. 24 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Galleria at Tyler. The event, hosted by the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce and Galleria at Tyler, will connect the community with educational and career opportunities throughout the region.

RCC’s participation in Good Morning Riverside reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to working alongside local organizations, employers, educational partners and civic leaders. Through these relationships, RCC continues to identify opportunities that expand access to education, strengthen workforce pathways and support the long-term success of Riverside and its residents.
