Riverside City College Celebrates More Than 3,674 Graduates During Historic Commencement Ceremony

Riverside City College celebrated the achievements of more than 3,674 graduates on June 12, as students crossed the stage surrounded by family members, friends, faculty, staff, and community supporters during a memorable evening at Wheelock Stadium.

The 2026 commencement ceremony marked the first time in many years that Riverside City College hosted the celebration on its athletic fields, bringing graduates and their loved ones together in a setting that reflected the spirit and traditions of Tiger pride. Thousands of family members and supporters filled the stadium to honor students earning associate degrees and certificates and to celebrate the perseverance that brought them to this milestone.
The Class of 2026 represented the diversity and determination that define Riverside City College. Among the graduates were veterans, student parents, first-generation college students, and students who balanced work, family responsibilities, and other challenges while pursuing their educational goals.

“This evening represented much more than a ceremony,” said Eric Bishop, Ed.D., president of Riverside City College. “It was a celebration of perseverance, resilience, and the collective support that helped our students reach this moment. Seeing our graduates walk across the field, surrounded by thousands of family members and supporters, reminds us why we do this work and why Riverside City College remains committed to transforming lives through education.”
The return to the athletic fields provided a memorable backdrop for the occasion and underscored the college’s commitment to creating meaningful experiences for students and their families. Cheers echoed throughout Wheelock Stadium as graduates celebrated alongside classmates, faculty mentors, and loved ones who had supported them throughout their educational journeys.
As the Class of 2026 embarks on the next chapter of their lives, Riverside City College remains committed to empowering students to achieve their goals and make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond.
