Riverside City College Launches Fresh Success Program to Support Low-Income Students

Beginning in fall 2025, Riverside City College (RCC) will launch the Fresh Success program through its CalWORKs department, expanding critical support services for low-income students receiving CalFresh benefits.
Funded by the Foundation for California Community Colleges (FoundationCCC), Fresh Success provides participating students with employment and training opportunities, case management, and financial assistance. This statewide initiative helps community colleges, adult schools, and community-based organizations access federal funding to enhance education, training, and supportive services that improve student employability.
“Fresh Success is more than a program—it’s a pathway to stability, economic self-sufficiency, and a brighter future for our students,” said Anne Lennox, RCC CalWorks Coordinator “By reducing financial and personal barriers, we can help students focus on their education and career goals.”
Through Fresh Success, eligible CalFresh recipients will gain access to comprehensive support, including:
-
Academic and career counseling
-
Retention assistance and educational plans
-
Academic monitoring and case management
-
Transportation assistance, textbooks, and supplies
-
Emergency housing and minor automotive repair
These wraparound services are designed to remove barriers that often prevent students from completing their education or pursuing sustainable employment.
Fresh Success is part of RCC’s ongoing commitment to empowering students through equitable access to education, resources, and career pathways.
