Riverside City College and Mark Lehr, PhD, Receive 2025 ICPC North America Excellence in Service Awards

Riverside City College (RCC) and Mark E. Lehr, PhD, professor of computer information systems, were honored with the 2025 ICPC North America Excellence in Service Award, recognizing their extraordinary contributions to the success of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) community across North America.
The awards were presented during a ceremony held on Nov. 15 in Riverside, Calif.
Lehr received the individual Excellence in Service Award for his exceptional dedication, leadership and long-standing commitment to advancing ICPC programming education and student engagement.
The plaque presented to Lehr reads:
“The 2025 ICPC North America Excellence in Service Award is presented to Mark Lehr, recognizing his extraordinary effort and achievement by ICPC North America community members who have significantly contributed to the success of ICPC.”
In addition, Riverside City College received the 2025 ICPC North America Excellence in Service Award as an institution, recognizing the college’s sustained support and impact on ICPC initiatives and student success. The award was accepted on behalf of the college by Shari Yates, dean of instruction, Career and Technical Education.
The institutional plaque reads:
“The 2025 ICPC North America Excellence in Service Award is presented to Riverside City College, recognizing extraordinary effort and achievement by ICPC North America community members who have significantly contributed to the success of ICPC.”
The awards were presented by Antonette Logar, NAC contest director at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and director of ICPC North America, underscoring the national significance of the recognition.
These honors reflect RCC’s continued leadership in computer science education and its commitment to providing students with high-impact, globally recognized learning opportunities through competitive programming.
