Riverside City College Celebrates Successful CSUSB Instant Admit Day with 71 On-the-Spot Admissions

Riverside City College (RCC) partnered with California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) to host a highly successful Instant Admit Day, resulting in 71 RCC students receiving on-the-spot admission for Fall 2026.

The event drew strong participation with 86 RSVPs, 81 students seen, and 24 additional drop-ins. CSUSB evaluators reviewed student transcripts and confirmed admission decisions in real time. Ten students received an “almost there” status, indicating they are close to meeting admissions requirements.

"Our students work tirelessly toward their goals, and they are the reason we exist as an institution. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone at RCC, across all departments, staff, faculty, and administration for the way you continually support our students. My gratitude also goes to CSUSB for bringing their team to RCC and making this special event possible for our students. Moments like these remind us why we do this work and inspire us to keep going," emphasized Lupe Delgadillo, Associate Professor of Counseling.

The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as each admission announcement was met with cheers, applause, and celebration throughout the room. One student’s joyful coyote howl quickly became a highlight of the day—capturing the excitement and spirit of the event.

Dean of Counseling and Specially Funded Programs, Herbert English explained "Instant Admit Day is a reminder of what’s possible when students are supported, prepared, and believed in. Watching our students earn admission on the spot was truly inspiring, and we are proud of the hard work they put in to reach this milestone.” 

“Instant Admit Day showcases the power of partnership and the incredible potential of our students,” said RCC representatives. “Our students work hard, and events like this help make their transfer goals feel real and within reach.”

This ongoing collaboration continues to deepen the partnership between RCC and CSUSB, and both institutions remain committed to offering future Instant Admit Days that expand pathways for our students.
