Riverside City College Celebrated Homecoming Week with “Decades of Spirit”

Riverside City College (RCC) brought Tiger pride and tradition to campus with a weeklong Homecoming celebration themed “Decades of Spirit.” Students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members joined the festivities from Monday, September 22, through Saturday, September 27, 2025.
A Week of Spirit and Celebration
Homecoming Week began on Monday, Sept. 22 with Retro Rewind, a decades-themed carnival in the Quad. Attendees created disco balls, painted vinyl records, tie-dyed shirts, and participated in a hula hoop contest for prizes.
On Tuesday, Sept. 23, the campus came alive with Sing it Back: Retro Karaoke and a full slate of athletics, including water polo, a community cookout, and volleyball. Spectators played Decades Bingo during the matches, with winners earning a $100 Amazon gift card.
The celebration continued on Wednesday, Sept. 24, with live entertainment at the Quad Steps. On Thursday, Sept. 25, students showcased decades-themed outfits during the Dress to Impress: Runway Edition, with winners from each category walking away with $25 gift cards. Later that day, the Decades of Spirit Pep Rally filled Wheelock Stadium with excitement. The event featured free Raising Cane’s for the first 400 students with RCC IDs, spirited performances by RCC’s band, cheer, theatre, and dance teams, and prize giveaways including an iPad Mini and multiple gift cards.
The week concluded on Saturday, Sept. 27, with RCC’s Homecoming football game against Palomar College at Wheelock Stadium. Fans joined the tailgate at 10 a.m. before cheering on the Tigers at the 12 p.m. kickoff. Homecoming Royalty was crowned at halftime, bringing a festive close to the week’s events.
Throughout the week, students also participated in A Look Through the Decades, a virtual scavenger hunt on Instagram (@ASRCC). By following clues and answering trivia questions, participants earned prizes while engaging with RCC’s digital community.
