Gateway College and Career Academy (GCCA) proudly celebrated its largest graduating class to date this June, marking a major milestone in the school’s 20-year history. The Class of 2025, with 133 anticipated graduates, was honored during a heartfelt ceremony held on the campus of Riverside City College (RCC), where GCCA students complete their high school education while earning college credit through dual enrollment.

The graduation ceremony brought together families, friends, faculty, and Gateway’s Board of Directors in a joyous celebration of student achievement. Executive Director Miguel Contreras and Principal Elena Bautista opened the program with remarks recognizing students’ perseverance and the strong support networks that helped guide their journeys.

“We are incredibly proud of this historic class,” said Executive Director Miguel Contreras, “These students have not only earned their diplomas, but they’ve done so while navigating college-level coursework and overcoming personal and academic obstacles. Their success is a testament to what happens when we believe in students and surround them with opportunity.”

The program featured moving speeches from graduating students who shared stories of resilience, growth, and hope for the future. Faculty members honored academic achievements and career technical education pathways, underscoring Gateway’s commitment to preparing students for both college and career.

Founded in 2004, Gateway College and Career Academy is an early college high school serving students who are often underrepresented in higher education. Its growing graduation numbers reflect a mission-driven approach to re-engaging students through flexible, individualized learning experiences that blend high school completion with college readiness.

Congratulations to the Class of 2025 and to the entire GCCA and RCC communities who made this achievement possible.
