Riverside City College Celebrates Over 5,200 Degrees and Certificates at Four Joyous Commencement Ceremonies

Cheers, music, and joyful tears filled the air on June 13 as Riverside City College (RCC) proudly celebrated the Class of 2025 with four unforgettable commencement ceremonies. This year’s celebration marked a milestone moment for more than 3,700 students, whose stories of persistence, determination, and triumph were on full display.

Over 5,200 degrees and certificates were applied for this year—a powerful testament to the College’s mission of transforming lives through education. In total, 3,755 students were eligible to graduate, earning more than 4,000 associate degrees and over 1,200 certificates, pending final grades. Nearly 1,300 graduates crossed the stage, met with roaring applause and celebration from their families, faculty, and the community.

The Class of 2025 represents the full richness and diversity of RCC. Sixty percent of graduates identified as Hispanic or Latinx, followed by 19 percent White, 11 percent Asian American or Pacific Islander, and 9 percent Black or African American. More than 61 percent of the class identified as female, with nearly 1 percent identifying as non-binary.

Among the most inspiring graduates were a 17-year-old earning their first degree and a 79-year-old proving it’s never too late to follow a dream. RCC also proudly honored 109 veteran graduates, 32 students from the Rising Scholars and prison education programs, and 12 from the Guardian Scholars program, supporting current and former foster youth.

Academically, the accomplishments were equally impressive. Nearly 500 students graduated with Great Distinction (GPA of 3.7 or higher), while over 950 earned Distinction honors (GPA between 3.3 and 3.69).

As graduates move forward—whether to universities, careers, or new opportunities—Riverside City College remains committed to serving as a launchpad for success, equity, and lifelong learning.
