John Adkins

About

John Adkins, M.F.A., is a professional with over 30 years of leadership experience across both the private and public sectors. Currently serving as Dean of Fine and Performing Arts at Riverside City College, he supports the art, dance, music, and theater departments while continuing to teach art appreciation as an active faculty member. Between academic roles, Adkins worked for several technology-based companies, leading in both customer service and operational capacities. His career in higher education includes teaching fine art courses at Columbia College in Chicago, Mississippi State University, Mississippi University for Women, Memphis College of Art, Broward College, and Riverside City College.

An accomplished artist, he continues to create and has exhibited nationally and internationally, with shows in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, Amsterdam, London, and Bangkok.
