FeRita Carter, Ph.D., is the Vice President of Student Services at Riverside City College (RCC), where she provides executive leadership for student-centered programs and services that advance access, equity, and student success. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Carter has led efforts to strengthen institutional infrastructure, foster inclusive learning environments, and support holistic student development.
Prior to joining RCC, she served in senior leadership and faculty roles across several institutions, including Dean of the School of Business and Technology and Political Science faculty member at Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina; Vice President for Student Affairs and Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Voorhees College; and Vice President for Student Affairs and Special Assistant to the President/Director of Title III Programs at Mississippi Valley State University. Her professional background also includes extensive experience in advancement and sponsored programs.
In 2026, she was selected to serve as Interim President of Riverside City College. Carter is actively involved in community service organizations and enjoys reading, writing poetry, traveling, and watching murder mysteries and legal dramas.
