Kristopher Acevedo, Ed.D., is an Assistant Professor of Communication Studies at Riverside City College (RCC), committed to equity-minded teaching, student advocacy, and culturally responsive education. A proud Hispanic educator and first-generation college graduate, Acevedo brings a powerful story of resilience shaped by his experiences as a former collegiate student-athlete, cancer survivor, and the oldest of six siblings. Despite facing academic dismissal from UC Riverside early in his journey, Acevedo persevered, ultimately achieving advanced degrees and becoming a passionate advocate for student success. Prior to his full-time faculty appointment, he served for eight years as an Educational Advisor for Adult Education & Extended Learning at RCC and taught as Associate Faculty in Communication Studies at RCC for six years and at Norco College since 2023.
