RISE (Realizing Individual Success through Education Project) is a federally funded TRIO-Student Support Service that provides academic support to students eligible for or receiving accommodations through the Disability Resource Center (DRC). This project operates in collaboration with the DRC and students will be able to receive tutoring services based on their different needs.
Tutors will be able to assist students in academic achievement by meeting them on a regular basis to clarify learning problems and work on study skills. They will help integrate effective learning and study strategies for their assigned students, while at the same time they help to clarify and/or reinforce course content, assignments and material.
Students must submit a tutor request from every semester they are seeking tutoring. Students are then matched with a tutor who has taken the class and a schedule is set for the entire semester depending on availability. DRC Tutoring is a consistent schedule and is not a drop-in tutoring program.
