Smarthinking
Online 24/7 Tutoring
 
Student Support Services at Riverside City College provides students with access to online tutoring from Smarthinking.
 
With Smarthinking, you can chat with a live tutor up to 24 hours a day from ANY internet connection. Tutors are available to work with you in a wide range of subjects including writing (for any course), math (basic math through calculus II), accounting, statistics, finance, economics, biology, anatomy & physiology, physics, chemistry, office applications, and Spanish. You can also submit completed drafts of your writing assignments from any course to Smarthinking's Essay Center for a tutor to review. The tutor will provide you with detailed, personalized feedback about your paper, typically within 24 hours.
 
To get started with Smarthinking:
  • Go to https://services.smarthinking.com
  • Enter your username and password
  • Your username is your RCC email address
  • Your password is “RCCSSS” and you can change your password on the "About Me" tab
  • Use your Smarthinking account whenever you need help with your course

PLEASE NOTE: The default RCCSSS password is only applicable to students who have been accepted into the SSS Program. Don't forget to change/personalize your password once you have established access.

Group Tutoring: As an RCC student, you can receive up to 3 hours per week/per subject of free group tutoring at the RCC Tutorial Services Department. Request forms are not required for group tutoring. Tutoring subjects range from Anatomy to Psychology.  However, availability of subject varies by semester.  Please check with RCC Tutorial Services Department for more information.
 
USA Funds Life Skills
Through the program, you have have access to USA Funds LIfe Skills, a free online learning program that offers you advice for managing your time and money wisely while on campus and after graduation. SSS students are encourage to complete any of the workshops listed on the website, and students can apply it as one of their event requirements during the Spring/Fall semester.
