Financial Aid Outreach and Workshops

​The Student Financial Services Office at Riverside City College hosts and participates in a variety of outreach activities.  We partner with faculty and staff, the community, K-12 schools and various organizations in order to help promote financial aid awareness.  We assist students and families to become more familiar with the various resources available to help reduce the cost of a college education.  

 
FAFSA/Dream Act Application Assistance 

FAFSA and Dream Act Application Assistance are held daily during regular hours of operations in the Welcome Center on the 1st floor located in the Dr. Charles A. Kane Student Services Building. Please check with our Financial Aid office for specific times. Student Financial Services staff members are available to assist students and families with completing the FAFSA and Dream Applications.  Make sure to read over the information in the link below to ensure you have everything needed to get started.

Financial Aid Awareness Week

​Financial Aid Awareness Week is a designated week in April that is focused on promoting financial aid awareness to current and prospective students.  Student Financial Services staff is available at various events to assist students in completing the FAFSA and Dream applications, as well as provide information regarding the process, deadlines, and required documents to complete their financial aid files. Financial Aid Awareness Week​
 
 
Money Habitudes  

Financial Fitness @ RCC is designed to give students the tools to become financially responsible and set them off to a good path toward a financially sound future.  The workshop series is held during the Fall and Spring semester and topics vary from Budgeting and Credit, to Scholarship Search and Application Tips.  Check back for an updated Calendar of Workshops.

Money Mondays 

Is a workshop designed for students who want to learn more about their money habitude i.e. spending habits, saving habits, budgeting, and etc. The series of workshop is to increase financial literacy to our students. Please see provided flyer for more information.    



Cash Me Outside Thursdays  

Students will get familiar with the financial aid process and the financial aid staff. We will be at the Quad Steps on Thursday throughout the year giving out financial aid SWAG, playing music and handing out financial information. This event is intended to be fun and HIP for our students!   


Financial Aid Fridays 

Student Financial Services is very active on social media; we have a robust platform and we want to use it to reach out to our students and community partners. This campaign is intended to raise awareness on financial aid and financial literacy through social media. Every Friday throughout the entire academic year we will be posting information on financial aid and financial literacy through videos and pictures/flyers. Visit our homepage and click the social media icons to add and follow us and encourage others to do the same!  



Financial Aid Office Hours

The financial aid office offers office hours to on-campus departments and programs and to local high schools, continuation schools, adult education schools, and charter schools. The purpose of the office hours is to answer general financial aid questions and assist with the FAFSA and Dream Act Application. Financial Aid Student Individual Appointments 

Financial aid individual appointments are available for students and parents who need help with completing the FAFSA or Dream Act Application, FSA ID, Campus Logic, CHAFEE grant application, or any state and federal aid site. Also, we provide one on one appointments with parents and students who need help understanding the process of financial aid at RCC. RCCD Foundation Scholarship Workshops
 
RCCD Foundation Scholarship Workshops provide students with valuable information regarding RCCD Scholarships including, how to apply for scholarships at RCCD, how to request a recommendation, and help with completing the scholarship application. For times and locations, please check back in the Fall 2018 semester. 

  
Highschool, Classroom, and Community Presentations
 
Highschool and classroom presentations provide students and parents with general financial aid information. Presentations can be customized to address specific student populations and particular student financial aid programs.
