   Course Placement/Placement Test
According to California Assembly Bill AB 705, students will no longer take placement/assessment tests. Colleges are required to take into account high school coursework, high school grades, and high school grade point average when deter​​mining math and English placement upon enrollment.

Your English and math placements are already completed if you are:

  • First time College Student
  • High school graduating senior
  • Graduated high school within the last 10 years

To view your placements:

  1. Login to MyPortal
  2. Select the Placement Summary link under the Academic Planning section 
  3.   Select the Help Tab for further explanation of your placements

 Please note: If you do not have placements on file, select the Placement Survey link under the Academic Planning section in MyPortal.


Addit​ional Services and Tests

The assessment center is here to serve you during the COVID-19 campus closure.  We are able to offer some of our tests proctored online via Zoom on a limited basis.  The student needs a computer with webcam and microphone (those built into a laptop/notebook are fine) and have the Zoom application installed (or use the Web browser interface.)  PLEASE NOTE: Chromebooks cannot be used as they have a vital incompatibility with parts of Zoom that are required to proctor this test.  Also, this session cannot be done via telephone.  More information about our tests below:
