Mail Preparation

These procedures will speed up mail processing at the District Mail Center.

  • Make sure each piece is properly addressed.
  • Make sure your name or your department’s name is above or just below the return address.
  • Make sure all the material is folded properly so it fits in the envelope.
  • Make sure all envelopes face in the same direction.
  • Do not have envelope flaps overlapped; place flap in downward position.
  • Be sure to fill out a mailing slip completely; most departments should have them.
  • If your department is out, call the District Mail Center at extension 8530 or 8526.
  • Please do not photocopy mail slips; the barcode on the slips will not work properly.
  • Either paper clip or rubber band your mail together, whichever is appropriate.
  • Bring your mail to the Riverside Mail Center and place it in the slot for Stamped Mail Only and Mail to be Stamped.
  • Please be sure to have your mail brought to the Mail Center on the Riverside City College by 7:30am or 12:00 pm.
  • Mail brought to the Riverside Mail Center after 12:00 pm will not go out until the morning of the next business day.
