





Trio
The Federal TRIO Programs are educational opportunity outreach programs designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO programs on the Norco Campus includes three outreach and support programs targeted to serve and assist low-income, first-generation college students, and students with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to postbaccalaureate programs.
Educational Talent Search (ETS)
The Talent Search Program at Riverside Community College, Norco Campus provides economically disadvantaged and first generation college-bound students with academic support, access and exposure to postsecondary education.
Talent Search's primary goal is to improve high school graduation rates and academic competency of program participants.
The program is 100% federally funded by the U.S. Department of Education, TRIO Programs. Two-thirds of the applicants selected must be low-income and/or first generation college-bound (this means that neither parent has graduated from a four-year university). A limited number of students who may not meet the federal requirements are also eligible for the program.
Student Transfer and Academic Retention (STAR)
The Student Transfer and Academic Retention (STAR) Program offers qualifying students a strong academic support system and learning community that will assist them in mastering their college transitions.
The primary goal of the program is to increase the retention and graduation rates of students who are committed to transferring to a four-year institution by increasing their access and opportunity to higher education.
The STAR Program is sponsored by Riverside Community College, Norco Campus, through a federally funded grant from the US Department of Education TRIO Programs and is free to all eligible students.
Upward Bound
The primary goal is for students to graduate from high school and continue their education at a four-year university. The Upward Bound Program is 100% federally funded through the Department of Education, TRIO program.
