Martin Luther King Center Computer Labs
PCs with internet access are available at all campus libraries. Students, faculty and staff have first priority for their use. If you want to be able to use one of these PCs for at least an hour, you need to check one out at the Circulation Desk.
Computer Labs
Knowing how to use a computer with confidence is a keystone of your future academic success. All campuses have computer labs.
To use the computer lab, students must enroll in a lab practicum, available on all campuses, which also doubles for college credit. Practicum hours vary depending on each student's needs. If a student enrolls in a practicum and runs out of hours mid semester, additional hours can be purchased.
There are two types of practicum available. The first practicum is a 1/2 unit course, and students receive 27 hours of computer time. The second practicum is a 1 unit course and students receive 54 hours of computer time. A student's needs should determine the appropriate practicum enrollment.
In addition to computer access, the lab also provides students with pay-per-print printing services and a coin operated copy machine. During regular hours there is an instructor on duty to assist students with any questions.
Enrolling in a computer lab provides students with the software applications necessary to complete college academic projects. The lab helps students to save money since many of the applications available at the lab are very costly to purchase. Programs include:
