The Riverside Community College District (RCCD) Police Department is a POST Certified agency, which complies with all state standards for recruitment and training, per California Penal Code section 13522. Pursuant to section 830.32a of the Penal Code, and 72330 of the Education Code, our law enforcement authority on or about the campus is identical to that of municipal and county law enforcement officers. As such, the RCCD Police Department is responsible for reporting and investigating all criminal matters on properties owned and operated by the college.
Our mission is to provide a safe and secure learning environment for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Our law enforcement methods fit within and contribute to the educational philosophy of the District. Our goal is to strive to be one of the most professional college law enforcement agencies in the state, and continue to assist our college in its mission to provide higher education to our community.
