The Great ShakeOut 2010 is Scheduled for October 21, 2010 at 10:21 A.M.
"The Great California ShakeOut began in 2008, as the Great Southern California ShakeOut, an effort to educate the public about emergency management during a large earthquake. It was the largest earthquake drill in U.S. history at the time with a total of 5.4 million participants spanning eight counties in the southern part of the state.
In 2009, the ShakeOut expanded to include the entire state of California - al 58 counties, divided into 11 areas. More than 6.9 million Californians participated, practicing DROP, COVER and HOLDON and other aspects of family, school and organizational emergency plans." Riverside Community College District participated in The Great ShakeOut Drill in 2008 and 2009. Once again, in 2010, Riverside Community College District staff - this time as three independent colleges. This page of the RCCD Emergency Preparedness Website, will provide you with the materials you need to be more prepared for an earthquake. Use the time between now and October 21, 2010 to get yourself, your family, your pets, your neighborhood and your workplace ready for the next earthquake and participate in The Great ShakeOut Drill at 10:21 A.M. on 10/21/2010.
