Riverside Community College District is poised at a critical point in our 92-year history. Faced with rapid population growth in the region and growing demand from local industry for an educated and highly trained workforce, RCCD and its three campuses have worked hard to expand existing programs and develop new programs and initiatives to meet those changing needs..
It is an exciting time to be affiliated with RCCD. Within the past 18 months, we have witnessed the Norco Campus passing 9,000 in student enrollment. We have increased class offerings at the new Rubidoux Education Annex. We have celebrated the completion of the restoration and modernization of the historic A.G. Paul Quadrangle at Riverside City College. And, we have successfully earned another six-year accreditation for Riverside City College and official candidacy status for the Moreno Valley and Norco campuses from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. We expect both of those campuses to be individually accredited colleges by 2010.
We could not have accomplished this much in so short of a time, without the support of the communities we serve and the dedication of faculty and staff.
As we move toward 2008, we do so with great anticipation and great conviction. Our mission remains unchanged: Provide an accessible, challenging, and effective learning environment to anyone who desires a college education. We are the community's college. And we take that responsibility to heart.
