RAY MAGHOORI
Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs
As chief academic officer for the District, Dr. Maghroori has overall responsibility for the district's curriculum, instruction, research, institutional effectiveness, economic and workforce development, faculty affairs, community education, distance education, and faculty collective bargaining issues. He is also the District's liaison to the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges.
Dr. Maghroori has taught at San Bernardino Valley College, Chaffey College, California State University, Long Beach, University of California, Santa Cruz, University of Southern California, and University of California, Riverside.
Prior to joining RCCD, Dr. Maghroori served as associate dean of the Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Riverside and dean of the College of Business at San Francisco State University, where he also served as professor of management. His publications include: Globalism versus Realism: International Relations' Third Debate (with B. Ramberg); Roots of Failure: United States Foreign Policy in the Third World (with M. Gurtov); The Yom Kippur War: A Case Study in Crisis Decision Making in American Foreign Policy (with S. Gorman). His articles on academic administration have appeared in such publications as: Change Magazine, Chronicle of Higher Education, Academic Leader, EDU EXEC and the Journal of Leadership Studies.
Dr. Maghroori holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside. His undergraduate degree in mathematics is from San Jose State University.
