PATRICIA M. BUFALINO
Dean of Instruction, Moreno Valley College
As Dean of Instruction on the Moreno Valley College, Patti Bufalino is responsible for the quality and integrity of the academic and instructional programs on the Moreno Valley College. She supervises the activities of program directors, department chairs and faculty, and classified personnel related to the instructional programs on the MVC. With her background in healthcare, she provides leadership and direction for the development and modification of the MVC healthcare programs and works with the chairs and assistant chairs of all instructional departments to facilitate the development of all the instructional programs on the MVC.
Patti has been a member of the Riverside Community College District faculty since 1980, first as a member of the Department of Nursing Education, serving as Assistant Director of the Associate Degree Nursing Program from 1990 - 1992. In 1998, she moved to the Moreno Valley College, serving as the first chair of the Department of Health, Human, and Public Services until 2006. She also served as MVC Academic Senate President and Faculty Development Coordinator and has served in leadership roles in professional nursing organizations at regional, state, and national levels.
Patti earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at St. Joseph College in Emmitsburg, Maryland; a Master of Arts in Philosophical and Psychological Foundations of Education at California State University, Northridge; a Master of Nursing with concentrations in Oncology and Education from the University of California, Los Angeles; and a Post-Master's Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner, also from UCLA.
