Academic Standards
RCRMC/RCC PA Program students are expected to make satisfactory progress in the program, which includes demonstration of academic competencies as well as consistent demonstration of professional and ethical behavior.
The PA Program curriculum is a competency-based program and is designed in such a way that initial material presented serves as a foundation for subsequent learning. Classroom activities lay a foundation of basic knowledge for clinical activities. For this reason, each student must satisfactorily complete each component of the curriculum before moving on to the next. For example, students must pass all courses in the first semester to be able to continue into the second semester, etc. Students must complete all of the components of the didactic phase before beginning the clinical phase of the curriculum.
Satisfactory completion is either a "C" or better grade for each course or a Pass score for activities graded as Pass/Fail.
Students must demonstrate competency in all required course work. Students must receive a grade of "C" or better for each course taken in order to progress in the program. A student's overall percentage score for the semester must be a minimum passing score for that course. Passing score for each course is as indicated in each course syllabus.
