Mrs. Stone graduated from the Orange Coast College Associate Degree Program in Costa Mesa in 1969.  Her nursing career experience includes medical-surgical, critical care, hemodialysis, mental health and nursing management.  She served as the Director of Agency Education for 13 years at Riverside General Hospital, now Riverside County Regional Medical Center (RCRMC) and retired in 1995. She worked as a nursing supervisor at RCRMC until 2002.

Mrs. Stone’s career also includes development of numerous staff educational programs including a new graduate orientation program, a reentry program for RNs, and geriatric assessment module for age specific patient care. She was responsible for developing the Service Excellence program at Riverside General Hospital. Her teaching experience includes numerous staff education inservices in various health care settings on clinical topics as well as nursing management and continuous quality improvement. She taught part time in RCC’s LVN program since 1980. In 2002 she became full time faculty and has taught in the RN and LVN programs.

Mrs. Stone is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, has been published in Nursing Management, and presented her paper on “New Concepts in Routine Vital Signs” at a conference in Scottsdale, AZ.
