Mr. Nelson graduated with an AS in Nursing in 1985 from San Bernardino Valley College. He received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University Fullerton in 1990 and a Master of Science in Nursing from California State University Dominguez Hills in 2001. He has been an Intensive Care Unit nurse since 1987 working primarily in Trauma and Cardiothoracic units. He has been adjunct faculty at RCC for six years. Mr. Nelson is part of the faculty team starting a new satellite ADN program at March Education Center, due to open Fall 2006.

Professional memberships include Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
