Dr. Kinser is a full time faculty member with over 27 years nursing experience. Her clinical experience includes obstetrics, pediatric, medical-surgical, gyn-oncology, geriatric, orthopedic nursing and nursing management. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Nursing Informatics and has been appointed to the ANCC's Content Expert Panel for Nursing Informatics for the 2004-2008 term. She is also member of a special National League for Nursing Task Force charged with developing an electronic repository for Nursing Education research. Dr. Kinser has experience in computer lab development, online program development and teaching, and integration of technology into nursing education curriculum. Dr. Kinser holds a BS in Health Care Management from University of LaVerne and an MSN from CSU, Dominguez Hills, majoring in Nursing Education, and minoring in Maternal-Child Clinical Nurse Specialist. She earned a Doctorate in Educational Technology from Pepperdine University in 2004. Her nursing education experience includes over 12 years in Associate Degree, Baccalaureate, and Master's degree nursing programs. Her professional areas of interest are integration of technology into nursing education, distance education, and providing health care and access to vulnerable populations. She serves the community as a volunteer health educator and informatics nurse for the H Street Clinic, a nurse-managed clinic run in partnership with the Central City Lutheran Mission in San Bernardino.
As the Nursing Education Resource Specialist, Anita coordinates the Nursing Skills Lab, the Nursing Computer Labs in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Teaching Learning Center, and is also in charge of developing and implementing RCC's human patient simulator labs. The first human patient simulator lab (Simlab) opened Spring, 2006. A second Maternal-Child Simlab on Riverside City Campus and an Intermediate level Simlab opened on the March Education Center Campus opened Fall, 2006.
