SkillsUSA Students Win 10 Medals

 Riverside City College’s 2014 SkillsUSA Team at State Conference

 
Riverside City College’s SkillsUSA team competed in the state conference held in San Diego this past weekend and brought home six gold, two silver and two bronze medals.  The team competed against 1,800 post high school and college students.
 
"I would like to thank the families, instructors and administrators for supporting these students and making it possible for them to compete," said Patrick Scullin, assistant professor of Applied Digital Media and director of the Printing & Graphics Center at RCC.  "It is a unique and one-of-a-kind experience for many of these students, providing them with opportunities to excel and network with industry professionals."
 
Gold medal winners included: Nathan Ribelin, Graphic Communications; Noor Khodr, Advertising Design; Ivy Son, Page Layout; Don Welton, Photography; Javier Ochoa, TV Production; Ruben Puga, TV Production. Silver medal winners: Bao Yang, Advertising Design; Brianda Avila, Photography. Bronze medal winners:  Hasan Khodr, Advertising Design; Matthew Torres, Advertising Design (High School).
 
The five gold medal winners are eligible to represent California at the National SkillsUSA competition in Kansas City in June.
