RCCD Board of Trustees member Mary Figueroa and Inland Empire NAACP President Waudieur Rucker-Hughes will speak tomorrow at Riverside City College about Riverside’s Civil Rights history. The presentation will take place at 12:45 pm in the O.W. Noble Administration Building, Room 122. Discussion topics include Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s and the current fight for social justice.
“This event is an opportunity to celebrate and learn about our city’s civil rights history. We encourage the community to participate in this historical presentation," said Cecilia Alvarado, dean of Student Services.
After the presentation, guests are invited to join the speakers for a Diversity Walk to The Center for Social Justice and Civil Liberties at 2:30 pm. Local civil rights leader Susan Strickland to provide welcome remarks, followed by an open house at the Center.
